Counseling may be for you if:

You’ve been trying to lead a healthy and happy life, but you can’t shake the feeling of anxiety, overwhelm, or sadness. You feel like you have a pretty good life, but you often feel anxious and depressed and feel like you haven’t been living your BEST life. You may struggle with saying “no” and you feel like you have to please your friends and family, you have trouble focusing at work or school because these thoughts are always there, you feel lonely, and all of these emotions feel too overwhelming. 

When it comes to talking about this stuff, it may feel scary, uncomfortable, or nerve-wracking. I know, I get it, it’s not easy to confront these thoughts and feelings that feel like they have control over us. Counseling can help you work through these heavy emotions so you can start to feel better, calmer, and become more confident so that you can pursue a life that you want to live.

Contact me to schedule a free, 15-minute consult call to determine if you and I will be a good fit to work together.

 
 
 

step two

For your first session, we’ll meet for 45 minutes and discuss what’s going on for you now. I’ll help you create goals for therapy, and we’ll make a plan of action.

 
 
 

step three

We’ll meet weekly or biweekly in my Long Island office or virtually. The length of therapy depends on you and your goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ Are you offering in-office sessions?

No, due to COVID-19, all therapy sessions will be offered online until further notice.

+ What can I expect during our free 15-min consultation?

This is an opportunity to gauge whether or not we'd be a good fit. I'll ask you to share why you're seeking support now, I’ll share a bit about me and how I work and then I'll open it up to you to ask any questions you have.

+ What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session will include a client intake, I will ask you questions to get to know you and your history. Together we will create goals for therapy and make a plan of action. It's also an opportunity for you to get a feel for me, and how I work.

+ What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to reschedule or cancel, please do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment, or you’ll be charged a $75 fee for the session. I know that life can throw unexpected things our way, I always make exceptions to this policy in case of emergency, illness, and dangerous driving conditions.

+ How does online therapy work?

Everything is virtual! We’ll do an initial consultation on the phone and then set up weekly appointments on Zoom. You’ll receive all the intake paperwork in a secure, online platform that will also process your payments. You’ll get appointment reminders and have access to all your billing info online.

+ Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I am an in-network provider with MagnaCare health insurance.

+ What if you don't accept my insurance?

If your insurance is not listed above, I also work with clients as an out of network provider, which means I do not bill your insurance company directly but will provide a receipt for the sessions you paid for. You can submit this to your insurance provider for any out of network benefits you may have and they will issue a reimbursement check.

I recommend contacting your insurance company before beginning therapy to find out what your out of network benefits are. Please consider asking the following questions:

  • Do I have Out of Network benefits for mental health services?
  • Is there a deductible that needs to be met before I can start getting reimbursed?
  • Does my deductible restart each calendar year?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • Do my benefits include telehealth services?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • How do I submit Out of Network benefits claims?

+ What is your session fee?

My rate is $175 for a 45-minute session.
